Are The Stars Alive is a 3 minute, 35mm visual poem about the importance of curiosity and personal growth. It follows a woman who begins to trust her own instincts as she tries to understand the complexities of the universe, proving the answer to many of our questions lies within us. It also pays tribute to pioneering women, like astronomer Maria Mitchell (who the film is loosely based off of), and the women who painstakingly hand colored George Melies’ masterpieces from the early days of cinema. These women painted stories in the stars, and laid the foundation for all of us, allowing our curiosity to bloom. By hand cutting and coloring our film, frame by frame, we hope that we can honor the nameless women who inspired us to become storytellers and rebels.

As the COVID-19 storm hits the great city, the film shifts from shock, hollowness, hope, and fear of the future. The film is dedicated to the hard work and sacrifice of the medical staff, essential workers, and the people of New York.

Blurring the lines of truth and fiction, this sociological essay film collages moments of distant future with observations on technology led evolution and what may come next for humanity. In the image of stone is a meditation on the idea of permanence. Paced as if the viewer were flicking through radio stations, each segment contributes a small part to a greater narrative of where we came from and where we're going.

In a restless Rio de Janeiro, two friends drift through a relationship defined by inertia. As the city pulses with chaotic energy, their emotional stagnation begins to fracture, exposing a generation caught between disillusionment and the possibility of change.

Drawing from institutional and personal archives, this film revisits a colored-only riverside recreation space that existed alongside a celebrated white-only water park, exposing the layered histories of segregation and unequal access to nature and leisure in Jim Crow America.

Using a 16mm optical audio reader and an oscilloscope, this experimental short translates the geometry of everyday symbols into their characteristic sounds, creating visual music from the shapes that surround us.

Sound Of Symbols

A surrealist horror fantasy filmed on Kodak VISION3. Two audio engineers create a sonic “infinity mirror” by cross‑wiring the circuitry of archaic analog gear. After years of trial and error, they finally make contact with an entity called The Walrus. As the entity seesaws through their bodies as a host, the encounter becomes an intimate triangle that unfolds in a single, unnerving conversation. The charge that allows the spirit to transfer is laughter or, more specifically, the energetic subtext of their laughter.
